Michael Buble – A man “To Be Loved.”

Summer 2013 has been a fantastic summer, not just because of the amazing weather we have had but also the incredible artists who have graced the stages of many different venues around the country with world class music and incredible live performances.

Artists such as Beyonce, Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake, Robbie Williams, Olly Murs and Rihanna had been belting out all their classic hits to their legions of fans throughout the country over the summer months. In July it was the turn of Canadian vocalist and songwriter Michael Buble to take to the stage and serenade a predominately female audience during his five night stint at the 02 in Dublin. How do I know all this I hear you ask? I know this because, I myself was one of dozens of Michael Buble fans who was lucky enough to receive a ticket for one of his concerts.

I attended Michael Buble’s concert on Friday the 19th of July and I have to say I was very impressed with what I witnessed. Michael Buble put on an incredible show packed with a modern take on classic tracks such as, “Moon Dance”, “Fever”, “You Make Me Feel So Young” and “All You Need Is Love”.  He also belted out some of his own tracks including, “Haven’t Met You Yet”, “Everything”, “It’s A Beautiful Day” and “Close Your Eyes”.  My favourite moment of the concert though happened while Michael was performing the Beatle’s classic “All You Need Is Love.”  As the audience and Michael serenaded each another, the entire 02 venue became surrounded in red and white heart shaped confetti.  It was absolutely incredible and also very romantic…if you were lucky enough to have someone to share it with.

I must also mention Michael Buble’s support act. They were a band called Naturally 7 from New York.  I hadn’t really heard of them at all so I didn’t know what to expect but I have to say though I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed with what I heard. They performed one original song, called “Wall Of Sound” and 4 covers, two of which they performed with Michael Buble.

During the concert Michael Buble announced to his legions of screaming fans that he was to become a dad and on the 27th of August, Mr. Buble and his wife were blessed with a beautiful baby boy.  I would like to say congratulations to the Bubles on the birth of their son, Noah Buble. Second of all I would like to say to Mrs. Buble, I am so jealous, you are one lucky woman (I say sarcastically). Honestly though, you really are!

Lastly I would like to mention the staff and the O2 itself. Since it was re-vamped and re-named, the 02 has been one of Dublin’s most central venues for events. I have been attending concerts in the 02 since 2007 and, I must say it is one of the most accessible music venues I have ever been to.  Also, the staff at the 02, who are always very helpful and friendly, from the moment you enter the building until the moment you leave.
