Lanzarote 2016

Our Dublin young adult group  went to Lanzarote in October and to say the least I have never had a better experience, ever! The hotel was beautiful and completely wheelchair friendly. The pool was also accessible and had a hoist for anyone who needed it. In the hotel they had a shop on site which was reasonable and also accessible.

The group we went with were a great bunch. The whole holiday was a great success from the hotel to the restaurants to the beach. The group flew with Aer Lingus and it was a great experience for me to be able to go to such an amazing place with my friends (as this is not something I could do without some support). The flight itself was a bit long but it was well worth it for the fantastic time I had. I would love to get the opportunity to go away to Lanzarote again as this was the best holiday I have ever been on with a group of friends.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this holiday possible. First and foremost, I have to give huge thanks to our youth worker Dave Barry and the two PAs Amanda Nolan and Tracey Young-if it wasn’t for these the holiday would never have happened. I would also like to thank Andrew Reid for coming along also as a volunteer and for helping out when needed.

This was the first time I’ve ever been away without my family and I was a bit nervous before going. However, once I was there I didn’t want to come home! I would definitely go again in a heartbeat and hopefully we will get another opportunity in 2017.
