Clontarf Live: Music Review

Clontarf Live: Music Review

Irish singer and keyboard player Claire Young stopped by the Irish Wheelchair Association recent youth disco to do a cover set.

I didn’t really know what to expect at first but when she started her set I was pleasantly surprised.

Young’s vocals and musical ablity were very impressive, I liked how she did a range of different genres but still managed to make each song work with the range in her voice. For example she did lovely stripped back covers of Justin Bieber’s  “Love Yourself” and James Bay’s “Hold Back The River”

For me it was covers of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” and Adele’s “Hello” that were the most enjoyable, these songs showed off the tones in her voice very well and she made these performances seem effortless.

It was performance of Rihanna’s  “We Found Love” and Ed Sheeran’s “Photograph” which seemed to connect with the crowd, they sang along to every lyric.

I really enjoyed Claire Young’s set on the night. Personally I think that she has the potential to have a successful music career.
